WMSG 2012 day 2


On board 1 round 2 of the Men's Individual tournament our 11 year old star H. Hsu 7d lost this time. His opponent J. Tan from Singapore made him resign after 158 moves.

At the Women's Individual tournament board 1 gave us 2 new players. Amira Song 4d from Canada (photo left) had to face Y. Lu 6d from Chinese Taipei who very effectively made use of the weaknesses Amira left on the board.

Round 3 Men's Individual tournament gave us again 2 young players on board 1. Dutch Champion 2012 Alexander Eerbeek 5d (photo right) started with a early severe attack on the groups of Hsin-wei Hung 7d of Chinese Taipei, but overplayed it somewhere and had to resign after 118 thrilling moves.


Irene Sha 6d from Canada (photo left)proves to be one of the top contenders for the Women's Individual tournament as she defeated an another tp player from Chinese Taipei Yu-Hua Lu 6d in a exiting 0.5 point game.
